Regular Board Meeting
January 10, 2005
Supervisor Parker called the Board Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
in the Township Hall.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Board of Trustees.
MEMBERS PRESENT Supervisor Parker, Clerk Montgomery,
Treasurer Williams, Trustee Martin, Trustee Carter, Trustee Orange,
and Trustee O’Steen.
MEMBERS ABSENT None

(01-10-01-05) Motioned by Carter second by Martin for the
approval of the December 13, 2004 Regular Board Meeting Minutes and
the December 21, 2004 Special Board Meeting Minutes of the Buena
Vista Charter Township Board of Trustees. Motion carried
unanimously.
(01-10-02-05) Motioned by Martin second by Orange for
approval to review and approve the statements for accounts payable
and payroll as listed below:
General Fund $316,960.12
Sewer Fund $ 94,832.15
Water Fund $147,276.99
Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Motioned by Carter second by Martin to accept agenda items
01-10-03-05 through 01-10-11-05 collectively.
(01-10-03-05) Motioned by Carter second by Martin to receive
and file 2004 Annual report from the Buena Vista Charter Township
Fire Department. Motion carried unanimously.
(01-10-04-05) Motioned by Carter second by Martin to receive
and file December 2004 monthly reports from Buena Vista Charter
Township’s Department of Public Works, Sewer Department and Water
Maintenance Department. Motion carried unanimously.
(01-10-05-05) Motioned by Carter second by Martin to receive
and file December 2004 monthly report from Buena Vista Charter
Township Community Development Department. Motion carried
unanimously.
(01-10-06-05) Motioned by Carter second by Martin to receive
and file December 2004 monthly report from Buena Vista Charter
Township Parks & Recreation Department. Motion carried unanimously.
(01-10-07-05) Recommend Board of Trustees to receive and file
communications from the Michigan Stormwater Floodplan Association
dated December 2, 2004. Motion carried unanimously.
(01-10-08-05) Recommend Board of Trustees to receive and file
an outline titled "Financial Incentives in Michigan" from National
Brownfield Association dated December 7, 2004. Motion carried
unanimously.
(01-10-09-05) Recommend Board of Trustees to receive and file
excerpt from December 2004 Michigan Township News titled
"Effectively Promoting Your Township Through the Media." Motion
carried unanimously.
(01-10-10-05) Recommend Board of Trustees to receive and file
communications dated December 31, 2004 from Charter Communications
regarding price increases for cable and Internet services to Buena
Vista Charter Township residents, effective February 2005. Motion
carried unanimously.
(01-10-11-05) Recommend Board of Trustees to receive and file
2004 Annual Report and 2005 Calendar from Saginaw County Mosquito
Abatement Commission dated December 17, 2004. Motion carried
unanimously.
TRUSTEE REPORT
Trustee Martin: Mr. Manager, do you think it might be possible
for me to receive a full calendar from the Mosquito Controlled
folks? I think all of the Board need it.
MANAGER’S REPORT
Mr. Williams: I have a few. Basically the commission applications
are still available. We are missing a few slots to fill for our
special committees like DDA, Parks & Recreation and so forth. So if
anyone in the public is interested and want to become a part in a
planning or zoning, please submit an application to the Clerk’s
Department or the Manager’s Department. Two, at this time the
Director of Parks & Recreation will talk about a marketing project
and Chief Parrott elaborating on the Grant for the Fire Department
which was rewarded to the Buena Vista Charter Township on January 7,
2005.
ADJOURNMENT: Motioned by Martin second by Parker to adjourn
the meeting at 8:40 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
