Regular Board Meeting
March 28, 2005
Clerk Montgomery called the Board Meeting to order at 7:00
p.m. in the Township Hall.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Board of Trustees.
MEMBERS PRESENT Clerk Montgomery, Treasurer Williams,
Trustee Martin and Trustee Orange.
MEMBERS ABSENT Supervisor Parker, Trustee Carter and
Trustee O’Steen
AWARDS/PRESENTATIONS None
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION None
Motioned by Martin second by Orange for Clerk Montgomery to
Chair the meeting in the absence of Supervisor Parker. Motion
carried unanimously.
Motioned by Martin second by Orange to open the public
hearing at 7:00 p.m.
7:00 P. M. Public Hearing for the 5 year (2005-2009) Parks
& Recreation Plan
Motioned by Martin second by Orange to close the public
hearing at 7:15 p.m.
(03-28-01-05) Motioned by Orange second by Martin for the
approval of the
February 24, 2005 Special Board Meeting Minutes and the March
14, 2005 Regular Board Meeting Minutes of the Buena Vista
Charter Township Board of Trustees. Motion carried unanimously.
(03-28-02-05) Motioned by Martin second by Orange for
approval to review and approve the statements for accounts
payable and payroll as listed below:
General Fund $178,720.17
Sewer Fund $ 32,206.00
Water Fund $ 48,918.03
Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
(03-28-03-05) Motioned by Martin second by Williams to
approve the purchase of Evidence Manager Software and related
hardware in the amount of $5,699.00. This purchase price is
guaranteed until March 31, 2005. Motion carried unanimously by
roll call vote.
(03-28-04-05) Motioned by Martin second by Montgomery to
approve the first reading of Zoning Ordinance number 243 to
amend tax parcel number 10-12-5-29-1312-000 from R-1
Residential, (Single Family) to B-3 Commercial, (Wholesale and
Business Services) commonly known as 3070 Perkins. Motion
carried unanimously.
(03-28-05-05) Motioned by Martin second by Montgomery to
approve the purchase of a replacement 60 HP Variable Frequency
Drive control unit at the Wastewater Treatment Plant from AEM,
Inc. of Southfield, Michigan for $3,081.00 plus freight charges.
A two year warranty is included. Motion carried unanimously by
roll call vote.
(03-28-06-05) Motioned by Martin second by Montgomery to
approve repairs of the Mectan Vortex Grit Chamber at the
Wastewater Treatment Plant. Parts provided by US Filter Evinex
Products for $3,044.00 and repair and installation by the John
E. Green Company for $7,300.00. Motion carried unanimously by
roll call vote.
(03-28-07-05) Motioned by Orange second by Martin to
review flyer on Access Management Training Seminar for local
officials and consultants. This seminar is to be held on April
19, 2005 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Secondary Complex
Training Center in Lansing. Motion carried unanimously.
(03-28-08-05) Motioned by Orange second by Martin to
receive and file a flyer for Buena Vista Charter Township Fire
Department’s 50th Anniversary Dinner to be held on
May 14, 2005 at the Candlelight in Bridgeport, MI. Motion
carried unanimously.
(03-28-09-05) Motioned by Martin second by Montgomery to
receive and file a flyer for Buena Vista Charter Township Fire
Department’s 50th Anniversary Golf Tournament to be
held on July 9, 2005 at the Green Acres Golf Course in
Bridgeport, MI. Motion carried unanimously.
Motioned by Williams second by Montgomery to add agenda items
03-28-10-05 to the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.
(03-28-10-05) Motioned by Williams second by Montgomery
to approve the 5 year Parks & Recreation Plan for Buena Vista
Charter Township. This 5 year plan will cover 2005-2009. Motion
carried unanimously by roll call vote.
CLERK’S REPORT
Clerk Montgomery: I think by now all of the Buena Vista
Residents have probably received their Voter ID Cards. That’s
all that I have. Just that we’ve sent out all the new Voter ID
Cards that coincide with the fact that our polling places have
changed.
BOARD OF TRUSTEE REPORT
Trustee Orange: I would like to commend the Police
Department, especially the officer that helped with the incident
this weekend. Terry handled it very well. He went to the
hospital and stayed with the people and I would like to commend
him on a job well done.

adjourn the meeting at 7:28 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
