Regular Board Meeting
May 8, 2006

Clerk Montgomery called the Board Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Hall.

Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Board of Trustees.

Motioned by Martin second by Carter that Clerk Montgomery Chair the Regular Board Meeting in the absence of Supervisor Parker. Motion carried unanimously.

MEMBERS PRESENT Clerk Montgomery, Trustee Martin, Trustee Carter, Trustee Orange and Trustee O’Steen.

(05-08-01-06) Motioned by Orange second by Martin for the approval of the

April 24, 2006 Regular Board Meeting Minutes of the Buena Vista Charter Township Board of Trustees. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-02-06) Motioned by Carter second by Martin for approval to review and approve the statements for accounts payable and payroll as listed below:

General Fund $108,455.50

Sewer Fund $ 15,491.17

Water Fund $ 15,333.20

Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.

(05-08-03-06) Motioned by Martin second by Carter to approve the resolution honoring Mr. Elmore Hooker as a recipient of Buena Vista Charter Township’s "80th" Milestone Award. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-04-06) Motioned by Martin second by Carter to approve the resolution honoring Mr. Clarence Haiderer as a recipient of Buena Vista Charter Township’s "80th" Milestone Award. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-05-06) Motioned by Carter second by Martin to approve the resolution honoring Mr. James O. Johnson as a recipient of Buena Vista Charter Township’s "80th" Milestone Award. Motion carried unanimously.

Motioned by Montgomery second by Martin to accept agenda items 05-08-06-06 through 05-08-12-06 collectively. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-06-06) Motioned by Montgomery second by Martin to receive and file the April 2006 Monthly Report for the Buena Vista Charter Township Police Department. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-07-06) Motioned by Montgomery second by Martin to receive and file the monthly report for the Buena Vista Charter Township Fire Department. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-08-06) Motioned by Montgomery second by Martin to receive and file the monthly reports for the Department of Public Works, Water Maintenance and Sewer Department for March and April 2006. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-09-06) Motioned by Montgomery second by Martin to receive and file the monthly report from the Buena Vista Charter Township Parks & Recreation Department for April 2006. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-10-06) Motioned by Montgomery second by Martin to receive and file a notice dated April 28, 2006 stating that the Saginaw County Board of Commissioners unanimously supports the Buena Vista Charter Township Millage Proposals that will appear on the May 2, 2006 Election Ballot. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-11-06) Motioned by Montgomery second by Martin to receive and file the monthly minutes from Saginaw Area GIS Authority’s Executive Committee Meeting on May 1, 2006. Motion carried unanimously.

(05-08-12-06) Motioned by Montgomery second by Martin to receive and file an invitation to the Residence Inn’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on May 18, 2006 at their new site located at 5230 Fashion Square Blvd. from 4-7:30 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.

CLERK’S REPORT

Clerk Montgomery: I just want to thank all of the voters for coming out to vote. We had a really critical issue and it was a long night but, it was well worth it. So I just wanted to say thanks to everyone.

BOARD OF TRUSTEE’S REPORT

Trustee Martin: I just want have one thing. This is a question and I believe I asked it two years ago and not that everybody suppose to have that in there memory or whatever, but I was at a meeting this morning and I picked up this calendar events put out by the Saginaw County Convention Bureau and I am still wondering why isn’t the Buena Vista Rib Cook-Off on it?

MANAGER’S REPORT

Mr. Williams: I have three. This coming Saturday is our Annual Clean up Day. That is going to Saturday, May 12, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the DPW, 1805 S. Outer Drive. Please feel free to bring you old belonging. This is our Annual Clean-up and wants much success and at this time, we are hosting it only at the DPW Building. We will have a number of dumpsters and we must be a BV Resident. The Police will be there to check your ID’s to make sure that you live in the Township. Second, our first CDC meeting will be held on May 17, 2006 here at the Town Hall at 6:00 p.m and notices will be going out this week to all the CDC members. You also have before you is my report from the National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
