Department of Public Works (DPW)
The Department of Public works (DPW) is responsible for maintenance and various other jobs throughout Buena Vista Charter Township. This includes snow removal and salting parking lots, picking up brush, cutting the grass in Lions and Kueffner Parks, vacant lot maintenance, and the BVCT Cemetery.
DPW has two full-time employees and one part-time employee:
Duane Fairris, Director of the Department of Public Works
Charles Darrough, Heavy Equipment Operator
Jaylon Mills, Light Equipment Operator
Brush pick up begins April 18th and ends November 18th. Brush should be laid out near the edge of the street with the cut end pointing towards the street and should be no more than 4 feet high and 4 feet wide. Placing brush in the proper way ensures the safety of employees.
